Williamsport – Martha May Lang Briles, 79 of Williamsport, died at 11:55 a.m. Sunday Jan 11 in St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lafayette. She had been ill and was a patient there for four days after suffering a stroke.   Born in Roachdale on April 22, 1918 she lived in Benton County and Fowler most of her life and in Williamsport the past 1 ½ years. She married Glenn Briles, Sr. on April 11, 1938 in Williamsport. He farmed and worked at Harrison Steel Castings Co. He survives. Mrs. Briles was a homemaker and member of the United Methodist Church, the former Rebekah Lodge and was active in the Senior Citizens Center, all in Fowler.  Surviving with her husband are five sons, Glen “Ed” Briles, Jr. and Leonard E. Briles, both of Williamsport, Jerry L. Briles of Cutler, David C. Briles of Lafayette and Terry A. Briles of Earl Park; two daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Mary Lou) Holder of Remington and Mrs. Kenneth (Marilyn Sue) Tibbett of Lafayette; two brothers, Charles Lang of Boulder, Colo and Donald Lang of Veedersburg and a sister, Mrs. Betty Brewer of Veedersburg.  

Source: Same “Funeral Notices” – Friends may call at Fisher Funeral Home, Williamsport after 5 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services in Williamsport Christian Church at 11 a.m. Wednesday the Rev. Don William officiating. Interment Highland Cemetery.  Surviving 26 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren.  Preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur and Bobby; 2 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren.
